Amanda B. Albert is the University Librarian and Assistant Professor at the Jack C. Taylor Library at Fontbonne University. Previously, she's held positions as an Instructional Specialist and Information Literacy Coordinator at Washington University in St. Louis. She is also adjunct faculty in the Syracuse University iSchool. Amanda earned her MSLIS from the iSchool, and has worked in both public and academic libraries.

 

Amanda’s current research interests include library management and administration, library assessment, and critical pedagogy. As a teacher, Amanda strives to teach the whole student, creating a brave space for students to explore challenging ideas. As a colleague, Amanda supports librarians and faculty as they design learning experiences, providing guidance in innovative teaching, programming, and assessment methods. She believes learning is best accomplished through social, hands-on experiences, and encourages reflective practice for both teachers and students.  

 

Amanda’s professional contributions include presenting at conferences such as ACRL, LOEX, NISO Virtual Conference, the Southeast Library Assessment Conference (SELAC), the Library Assessment Conference (LAC), and the Distance Library Services Conference (DLS). Amanda is published in The Journal of Academic Librarianship, The Journal of Library & Information Services in Distance Learning, Reference Services Review, and in numerous academic books.
